Using collaborative storytelling and an array of traditional folk and fine arts practices, artist collective Light House Keepers presents Cross-Pollination, a site-specific installation that responds to ecological anxiety and climate grief with narratives of survival and collective care. The collective draws from folklore, ecology, local histories, and lived experiences to create artifacts, heirlooms, and ephemera from an imagined post-industrial future. Set within an imagined living space, Cross-Pollination evokes a community that has weathered the upheavals of climate change, balancing the inevitability of grief with resilience and hope. Linking remembered past and speculative future, we invite our community to imagine collective survival in a post-extraction society.
