I'm Eileen Balsom Matthews, I live and paint in New Perlican on the beautiful Baccalieu Trail. I am retired to my husband William's hometown of New Perlican. New Perlican has a sheltered harbour with 20 plus colourful stages. Mostly self-taught, I am inspired by Newfoundland; my canvases tend to be mostly outport scenes. My artwork is sold from my website www.nerrlhandpainteddesigns.ca and my FB page; items can be packaged and shipped; shipping extra. My artwork is in many of the Arts/Crafts stores on the Avalon Peninsula and in Trinity. You may also book a private appointment at my house. I am a member of Craft Council NL, Art Assoc. NL., Legendary Coasts and NLOWE. I am TAP compliant and am in the NL Tourist Guide. I am an Ambassador with NLOWE (Newfoundland and Labrador organisation for Women Entrepreneurs); I am also a member of Legendary Coasts Tourism, Citizen of Craft, Board member Baccalieu Trail Heritage Corp.; Vice Chairperson, Heritage New Perlican; Member of Mizzen Heritage Society, Heart's Content and Board Member for the Heart's Content Community Development Corp along with various other volunteer activities in my area. In 2017, I received the Federal Government Award for "Making a Difference" from Honourable Judy Foote, the then Member of Parliament. I have been featured on Eastlink TV's "Discover NL'' show.
